Monk in Residence
Brother James Dowd, OSB

Brother James Dowd, OSB, is the Monk in Residence for the Diocese of Nebraska and Prior of Incarnation Monastery and the Benedictine Service Corps in Omaha. Brother James is a Benedictine monk in the Episcopal Church and has previously served in monasteries in New York State and in South Africa. As the Monk in Residence Brother James serves on the Bishop’s staff and is available to parishes throughout the diocese for prayer workshops, quiet days, and preaching assignments. Brother James also provides spiritual direction on an individual basis. As Prior of Incarnation Monastery and the Benedictine Service Corps, Brother James is leading the building of a Benedictine community of both vowed and non-vowed members to live a life of prayer and service particularly with the poor.

Lachisha Baskin is a St. Louis, MO native and grew up in Bloomington, IL. Lachisha has worked in the Business Administration field for over 20 plus years as well as the HR Generalist Field. Megan Griffiths was born and raised in Tulsa, OK and moved to Omaha in early 2008. She was received into the Episcopal Church in spring of 2017 and began working for the Diocese in 2025. As the Director of Communications, Megan coordinates the written and electronic publications of the Diocese, including the Ministry Memo newsletter, the webpage, Facebook & Social Media, and other outreach efforts.
